What Can I Do with Balsamic Vinegar? Here are 6 Ideas:




1. 做沙拉 Make a Salad Dressing

Balsamic, Olive Oil, and a little fresh cracked pepper makes a light and healthy dressing for all types of salads. Many dressings can be high in fat content. By the time you put on the dressing, it basically nullifies the nutrition of the salad itself. Try it next time for a work lunch or dinner!


2. 用麵包蘸醬 Dip it with Bread

Balsamic and Olive Oil are like two peas in a pod. Try it next time you have some bread lying around the house. Or buy a baguette from the store and slice into small portions for an appetizer. Fancy, yet little effort on your part.



3. 做滷汁 Use it as a Marinade

The acidity of Balsamic helps to tenderize meats.


Ingredients

1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar

1/4 cup Lemon Juice

1/2 cup of Soy Sauce

1/2 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

3 cloves of Minced Garlic

1 tbs Dried Basil

1 tbs white pepper


Instructions

Combine all ingredients into a bowl or bag, and let your meat marinate in the refrigerator for up to 8 hours. If you're in a pinch, 2 hours will do. If you don't have all the ingredients, no worries. Try it for steaks, pork, chicken, fish.



4. 做 Caprese 沙拉 Make a Caprese Salad (Tomato and Mozzarella)

Want to up your fancy game? Buy a ball or log of mozzarella, slice and alternate with large tomato slices. Put little leaves or finely chopped basil on top, and drizzle with Olive oil and balsamic vinegar.




5. 香醋醬 Balsamic Reduction Sauce

Basically reduced balsamic vinegar, and you add sugar, turning it into a thick, sweet tangy sauce that you can drizzle over anything. Take 2 cups of Balsamic and heat over pan, using low heat, stirring in 1/2 cup of brown sugar, or other type of sweetener. Let the water content evaporate until you have a thick consistency. Put it on steaks, pork chops, chicken, pasta, vegetables, salmon, etc.


6. 喝它保持清醒 Drink it to Stay Awake

Going for a long drive? Up late studying for final exams? Three hour meeting right after lunch? Forget 12 hour energy drinks.
